I've defined a search index location on another drive, but there doesn't seem to be a way of specifying the location for the Temp files. And unfortunately, it doesn't appear that you can move this after the fact in SharePoint 2013--from what I've read, you have to reinstall SharePoint.
By default, the temp files are located here:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\15.0\Data\Office Server\Applications\gthrsvc
However during an index of approximately 1.5 million files, the 300GB drive filled up.
It would be great if there was a way of specifying the temp file location for the Search Service, as we can with the index files themselves.
